Zine is short for “magazine.” It is a collection of unofficial fanworks, typically of art, writing, and merch items, around a central theme.

This zine will be celebrating the romantic relationship between Dick Grayson and Slade Wilson from DC Comics.

This will be a physical, for-charity zine.

This zine will be rated PG-13. This includes non-graphic violence and injuries, and romance without explicit sexual activity.
╰┈➤ Is this zine Safe for Work (SFW) or Not Safe for Work (NSFW)?
This zine will be SFW! Depending on the results of the interest check, we might make a digital-only NSFW side zine.

Other characters can be included but sladick must be the main focus.

AUs will be allowed.

We are using sladick as a general ship term, all ship dynamics are welcome in the zine.
╰┈➤ Can we show violence, especially considering one of the characters is a villain?
No, the focus of the piece should be romantic in nature. As such, no violence will be depicted in this zine.

We will finalize our merch list depending on the results of the interest check.

Anyone that is 18 years can apply, regardless of previous zine experience may apply.

╰┈➤ How will the workload be split between contributors? Is there a limit to how much they can contribute?
Each artist will be required to do one illustration or one 2-4 page comic. Additionally, artists can choose to create spot art for a fic alongside their main assignment.
Each writer will write one story, however the word count will range from 2-3k words.
Merch artists will be assigned accordingly. This will all be dependent on the results of the interest check and the applications we will receive.
╰┈➤ What compensation will the contributors/mods be receiving?
All contributors will receive a digital PDF of the zine. If profits allow, all contributors will be given a full bundle (PDF zine + physical merch).

Applicant Guidelines
╰┈➤ GENERAL
• Portfolios must be fully accessible. If using a Google Drive, use set the link to “anyone can view” and not “restricted.”
• Portfolios must include at least 5 pieces.
• At least one piece must feature Dick Grayson.
• At least one piece must feature Slade Wilson.
• At least one sample must be of the same style you would create a for your zine piece.
• The zine is SFW — the inclusion of NSFW samples or within the portfolio without a warning will result in disqualification.
• Contributors must create an original piece for the zine. AI art, traced, and plagiarised samples will result in disqualification.
• Contributors retain the right to their piece. However during the zine’s creation, we implement an exclusivity clause, and ask contributors to not publicly post their piece. This ensures the zine’s content is not spoiled before distribution.
╰┈➤ PAGE ARTISTS
• Must have 3 or more original samples. It can’t be traced, AI, or plagiarized.
• At least 1 sample must have a complete and detailed background.
• Applications will be judged on their composition, style, anatomy, color, and backgrounds.
╰┈➤ WRITERS
• Must have 3 or more original samples. It can’t be AI-generated, or plagiarized.
• All samples must be between 2k to 3k word count (leeway of 100 words).
• At least one sample must be a completed piece within the 2k-3k word count while others can be excerpts from longer works.
• Applications will be judged on their spelling, grammar, diction, pacing, characterization, and ability to tell a complete and compelling story within the zine’s word count.
